There and Back Again (Part 1)

A few weeks ago, I flew to Berlin. I got off the airplane, found my way to a train, took said train, traveled about 30 minutes, then went to a two-hour psychiatrist appointment. After that appointment, I walked back to the train station, took another train, headed back through the airport, sat and ate a sandwich, then flew home.

I still can’t believe I had to go ALL THE WAY to Berlin to see a doctor about my mental health. It feels ridiculous and not even believable. If I had not gone through it, I would totally be doubting that this was literally the only way. But knowing how many doors we knocked on to try for me to see literally any other doctor anywhere in the 2-hour radius around us was genuinely crazy. I wrote about it here on this substack, so hopefully you remember and we don’t have to go over it again.

Instead, I’m going to add that I had high hopes for this appointment. I figured, if this was the only door God seemed to open for me, then surely this was going to go great!

Um. It didn’t…
